FAQs
How does the staffing process work?
You submit your application, telling us what tasks you would like or are able to do. If you are not sure, that is okay, but we at least need to know your availability. If you have a target number of paid hours you would like (for example, if you are trying to cover your full pass and maybe earn more), please indicate that as well. You will receive a confirmation email, and we will contact you closer to the event to tell you what our needs are and to make sure everything works for you too.
How does the pay process work?
You need to have a pass to the event, either by purchasing it or winning it. You will be paid 15$/h. At the end of the event, you will submit a timesheet with all hours worked to your direct manager for signature, and you will be paid promptly after that. We encourage you to finalize this at the event rather than wait weeks to send it in and have to chase down managers for signatures.
Can I compete, take workshops, and still work?
Yes, definitely. We will do our best to fit your schedule and give you hours that work for you.
Will I get all the hours I ask for?
Not necessarily. It depends on our needs and your availability, so not everyone will receive all the hours they request. If a certain number of hours is important to you, try to offer more availability, especially for set-up and tear-down, which are often easy ways to get many hours without missing any of the event.
What are the different tasks?

Registration: Helping with the registration process.

Door check: Checking that people are registered before they enter workshops and events.

Set-up and tear-down: Helping to assemble and disassemble the floor, lights, backdrops, etc.

Competition line-up: Helping competitors line up before competitions.

Transportation staff: Going to the airport or train station to pick up or drop off staff.

Hospitality suite: Helping to serve and decorate the party room.
Who are the managers?
Guillaume and Guillaume are in charge of staff and set-up/tear-down, and Ben-Wa is the transportation coordinator.
