party
“Liberating, inspiring, rejuvenating euphoria!” - Brad Whelan

Hands down, the craziest party event you will go to all year!

Let this sink in:
There is a hosted party room (free alcohol), open to all (anyone over 18), with a different theme every night (Fri, Sat, Sun), designated for club dancing/letting loose (not specifically partner dancing), with a DJ spinning party & contemporary music. The whole thing STARTS at 2am, (after the live bands finish) and goes till at least sunrise, often later. Bounce to your heart’s content between the party room and the WCS room, which will be going all night too. ...You might want to read that again. ;)

Kyle fitzgerald & MELODIE PALETTA
Kyle, a Canadian, and Melodie, from France, discovered West Coast Swing at 17 and 14, respectively. They both fell in love with the dance and each other on the dance floor. Now, with their backgrounds shaping their unique approach, they travel the world, sharing their knowledge and passion. Through their teaching, they make West Coast Swing accessible to all, fostering a vibrant global community. Join them on the dance floor to experience the magic for yourself!

Sonya Dessureault
Sonya began her career when she went to school for modern dance in her hometown of Montreal, Quebec. Afterwards, she worked professionally as a salsa and latin street dance teacher. It was at a salsa congress that she discovered west coast swing through a crossover performance. Sonya loved the freedom of expression and knew she had found her dance. With her trademark intensity, she trained and quickly moved up the ranks. She took a risk and left everything she had in Montreal and went to Europe. She began by teaching at a west coast swing event and from there was invited to teach all over the continent. Sonya believes all great dancing comes from learning to understand and then finding the freedom in what you know. She’s known for her fierce commitment to personal growth in herself and others, both on the floor and off.

Alli Reese et Maxwell Thew
Alli & Max have been partners in dance and in life since 2018. Both found their love of west coast swing in college; Max in his ballroom club in Washington state, and Alli in Cambridge through an undergraduate course. Alli began dancing shortly after learning to walk and has trained in solo movement on the theatre stage and marching band field for over 25 years. Max is a musician by trade, playing nine instruments and helping hundreds of students discover the joy of music each school year. As DJs, both use their unique perspectives on music to keep dancers grooving to a variety of classic favorites and lesser-known gems all night long. Alli & Max are based in the Boston area and are proud to DJ at both local and national events in addition to serving as co-organizers for Dancing Fools (Alli) and Dirty Water WCS (Alli & Max).

Vanessa Keroack
Vanessa started swing dancing in 2007 and quickly discovered a passion for WCS which she has been practicing for 15 years now. Over the past few years, she has taken part in several events on the Canadian and American east coast as a social and competition dancer.

She is an active member of the Montreal WCS community. She made her debut as a DJ in 2018 within this same community and since 2019, she is booked to DJ at WCS events on the US east coast. She has a varied music repertoire including WCS dancer favorites from the past decade.

Brad Blashko
Brad is excited to once again bring his DJ skills to CSC. Hailing from Ottawa, ON, he has been DJing for over half a decade and loves keeping the dance floor packed all night. He enjoys mixing hits from the past with the most popular songs in the present, while also being on the lookout for the next big songs in the Westie scene.

Joe Mahoney
With 30 years experience & passion for West Coast Swing, Joe Mahoney (Papajoe) discovered his love for dance in 1995 through country western dancing and transitioned into West Coast Swing a few years later. Early in his journey, he competed on the circuit and achieved the status of All-Star dancer. His passion for the dance community expanded into DJing, where he became a sought-after talent at national events.

Fifteen years ago, Joe’s mission shifted toward fostering a thriving dance community in Boston. He co-founded a weekly dance night that started with just eight attendees and has since grown to host 175–200 dancers each week, offering a welcoming space for college students and adults alike. Through his work, Joe also provided opportunities for others to learn how to teach, DJ, and share in the passion of this dynamic dance.

Thomas Clyde
Thomas has been swing dancing since 2006, started taking West Coast Swing classes in 2010, and stepped into the world of DJing WCS social dances almost exactly a decade ago.
